This vintage Balinese Barong mask is a hand-carved and hand-painted wooden wall sculpture from Indonesia. The Barong is a revered protective figure in Balinese Hindu tradition, symbolizing benevolent forces and spiritual balance. While ceremonial Barong masks are used in ritual dance performances, this example was created as decorative wall art inspired by that tradition. Expertly carved from wood and richly painted, the mask features the expressive bulging eyes, fanged mouth, and ornate crown elements characteristic of Barong iconography.
