Xigui Sheng Pu-erh 2024
Yunnan, China
Xigui is a small, well-regarded tea-growing area on the Lincang side of the Lancang River in Yunnan — the material here is known for handling repeated steeping unusually well: high concentration, a thick, smooth liquor, and a sharpness in the aroma that doesn't tip into harshness. Expect a strong orchid-leaning fragrance, a delicate mouthfeel, real layering infusion to infusion, and a sweetness that holds steady from the first cup to the last, with quick, lasting salivation.
Pressed by Menghai Susu Tea Industry — raw material picked in March 2024, cake pressed that May. Fully raw (sheng), so it's just getting started; expect it to keep developing character over the next several years if kept dry and away from strong odors.
357g cake, cut and sold by weight.
