Jianshui Purple Pottery Gaiwan 150ml

This traditional gaiwan is handmade from Jianshui purple pottery, a ceramic tradition originating in Yunnan, China. Unlike Yixing zisha, Jianshui pottery is known for its dense clay body and distinctive surface finishing.

This piece combines dark metallic-gray tones with warm exposed clay, giving each carved section strong contrast and a naturally aged appearance. The approximately 150 ml size makes it practical for everyday gongfu brewing.

The bowl has a wide opening for easy access to the leaves, while the matching lid and saucer complete the traditional three-piece gaiwan set. The carved texture around the body and lid adds grip and gives the piece its distinctive handcrafted character without making it overly decorative.
